My website JCMurtagh.com is up and running, I obviously have my blog live, and my twitter is up. Now all I need is to get the last edit done on The King’s Trust and get things moving.
I wonder, Is there anything I am missing in the ways of promotion and getting my name out there?
Yes, Do It With Confidence.
Today I set a goal for myself. I will become a published author in the next 365 days, come what may.
I have been scouring the internet for the right answers. Commercial publish, e-publish, self-publish, don’t publish. What I have found is there is no one right answer. I’ve decided to just pick one and go with it. If it’s meant to be, it will happen.
I think some people decide to be writers and some are born with a true gift. The real storytellers will always shine over those doing it for money or vanity. I write because if I don’t, I will go insane. I have so many stories inside of me I could never possibly tell them all. My love of words, story-telling, and making characters come to life on a page drives my ambition to succeed. Even if my story makes one person smile, makes one person forget their troubles just for a while, I did my job and that is better than any material reward I could ever receive.
Today I was questioning my future. Then, I opened a fortune cookie at lunch and it read– Yes, Do It With Confidence. I don’t think I need to ask what that means.
And so, here I am. Another goldfish in the big pond of publishing. Let’s see if I can shine.
